Ceremony and ritual help us to mark the moments in our lives. While we’re used to ceremony and ritual when it comes to marriage, graduation, or funerals, we miss out on opportunities to savor other big life transitions. Because we live in a culture that no longer values ceremony as it once did, we miss out on opportunities to create ceremonial space to honor seasonal shifts, job loss/transition, illness, divorce or separation, childbirth, identity shifts and more.

As a Community Celebrant, I offer custom ceremony creation to mark and honor the transitions in life.

Offerings

For either of these offerings, we’ll begin with a short consultation call so we can get a feel for each other and you can let me know what kind of ceremonial experience you’re seeking. This can be as simple and private or as grand and elaborate as feels appropriate to you. And if you’re not sure what you’re looking for but know you’re going through a transition that deserves to be acknowledged, we can find out what feels right together. This is all part of Ceremony creation.

Ceremony creation is collaborative and what we create together gets to be specific to you and the transition you’re going through or marking the completion of. Once we have a basic idea of what you’re looking for, I’ll begin to research and come back to you with specific pricing and logistical details.

Full Ceremony Creation and Facilitation

This includes research, ritual creation, overall ceremony building, and ceremony facilitation. Building out a custom ceremony typically takes me between 8-20 hours of work depending on the size and scale of the gathering. You will be sent two drafts of the ceremony outline and script and we will collaborate together on what ritual acts, symbols, songs, etc. feel right to include. Full Ceremony Creation and Facilitation is offered to those living locally in the San Bernardino Mountains (spanning from Lake Arrowhead to Big Bear) or to those in Los Angeles who want to travel to an idyllic location for their ceremony. I do not travel at this time.

Base Price varies from $400 to $1200 depending on the type of ceremony desired, number of attendants, and length. *This does not include materials or location fee.

Ceremony Creation Consultation

This hour long virtual session is for folks seeking to create and facilitate their own ceremony, but would like some guidance. These consultation calls include ritual design assistance, ceremony scaffolding, resources for poems/songs/quotes, and any other questions that might come up while constructing a ceremony. If you come in with a clear picture of what moment you’re wanting to mark, we can come up with a basic outline for you within the hour.

Seasonal Community Ritual

I’m beginning to facilitate community rituals marking seasonal shifts In my small town in the San Bernardino Mountains. These rituals are mainly offered through our local co-op, Mountain Provisions Cooperative, and are low-cost or donation based. Visit Mountain Provisions Cooperative to take a look at our event calendar and register for seasonal ceremony if you’d like to come up the mountain and observe the shifting of the seasons.

My Background

After having created and facilitated a number of ritual circles and ceremonies through my (now closed) LA collective Hathor House, I’ve decided to become a Community Celebrant through the Celebrant Foundation and Institute.

Through Hathor House, I ran New Moon and Full Moon Circles, Ancestral Healing, Plant Meditation, and Seasonal rituals. Hathor House was also a community space that welcomed birthworkers, mystics, and healers to come teach classes or workshops underneath our canopy of Deoder Cedars in Pasadena, California. Hathor House ran for 3 years before I closed it’s doors in order to do some deep healing work and study.

Ritual Celebrancy is something I’ve been doing in private for a few years with Bridal Blessings, Parent Blessings, House Blessings, Grief and Loss Ceremonies, and Pet Memorials- but I’ve just formalized my studies through CF&I and am ready to bring these offerings back out into the public.

My ritual and ceremony teachers include: StarHawk, Sister MorningStar (pictured), Lara Veleda Vesta, Jen Boyce Manseau, Malidoma Some, Ronald Grimes, Francis Boots, Olivia Pepper, and many others.

While I currently only offer ceremony on the land I live on or consultation virtually for those living in other places, I plan on traveling eventually as well as offering retreat opportunities.
